Weekly Check-ins & Touchpoints
A signature feature of the P2SCS program is the commitment to sustained weekly engagement with students throughout the academic year.
Consistent, Individualized Support
Weekly check-ins provide a structured and personalized opportunity for each student to connect with program staff, peer mentors, or academic advisors. These one-on-one meetings are used to assess academic progress, identify obstacles, and offer tailored guidance.
Student-Centered Mentorship
Grounded in principles of self-regulated learning and social cognitive theory, these check-ins serve as a mechanism to build self-efficacy and help students develop strategies for navigating coursework, time management, and stress. Advisors use these meetings to affirm student identity and reinforce persistence.
Accountability & Belonging
Weekly touchpoints foster a culture of accountability while creating a reliable space where students feel seen and supported. They are also critical moments for community building. Students are encouraged to share personal wins, challenges, and experiences within a trusting environment.
